Outdoors

Thoreau wrote, "I went to the woods to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not when I came to die,
discover that I had not lived." I have always enjoyed being outdoors because it clarifies
life: no social media, no outside distractions, it's just you and mother nature. I am surrounded by mountains here in my hometown, and because of that, my childhood was spent climbing the local mountains. Often during these outdoor treks, I reflect on life, primarily because the lack of devices promotes conversations with my friends and family. The feeling of "conquering nature" I get when I ski, hike or climb is unmatched. Although I have a busy schedule, I always make time for nature because it provides a natural reset that I will find helpful for the rest of my life.
